The import of a vehicle into Canada from the United States requires an export declaration with the U.S. Office of Export Control Cooperation. W2C will make this declaration 72 hours before the vehicle crosses the Canadian border. Our agents will help you complete the required forms and submit them on your behalf to the U.S. customs authorities (USCBP) together with copies of the vehicle registrations and the purchase contract.
U.S. Customs clearance must be obtained before crossing the Canadian border. Once we receive this authorization, we will file Form 1 and the declaration with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). All vehicles entering Canada must be declared to the CBSA and a Form 1 must be filed.
Form 1 will enable you to get an inspection form from the Registrar of Vehicles website for a fee. Following the inspection of your vehicle, if everything is in compliance with Transport Canada regulations, you will be able to obtain a plate from the licensing office.
