PAPS Agent

W2C Customs Management is looking for a Pre-Arrival Processing System (PAPS) Agent to fill a permanent full-time position.

Your mission

Reporting to the Senior Consultant, the incumbent performs PAPS-related duties.

Main tasks

  • Coordinate our clients’ exports to the United States, with US forwarders, carriers and customs brokers.
  • Assist our clients in setting up their customs account with the US authorities.
  • Actively participate in the compliance of shipments to the United States for our clients:
    • Compliance with US customs laws, HS, MID, origin, security and other classifications.
  • Stay informed and act proactively regarding changes in regulations, classifications and requirements for importing into the United States.
  • Validate Pre-Arrival Processing System documentation for export at border crossings.
  • Manage customs overpayment and duty drawback claims.
  • Verify brokerage invoices for billing purposes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and updating of information in our company’s various computerized management systems.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Your profile

Customs rater

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated customs professional to advise clients on the intricacies of the customs process (trade agreements, taxes, duties, and so on).

Your mission

As a seasoned customs rater, you are responsible for ensuring the compliance of customs transactions with CBSA regulations. In addition, your duties will include updating product databases, maintaining client, vendor and product notes, ensuring quality control (QC), providing technical support to the operations agents, and assisting the department supervisor.

Your profile

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in the customs field.
  • In-depth knowledge of CBSA guidelines, customs processes, HS codes, SIMA, trade agreements, customs publications (memorandums, notices, GST, etc.) and other relevant fields.
  • Ability to handle multiple files at the same time.
  • Enjoy helping people and solving problems.

Operation and customer service officer (senior)

Your mission

Assist the operations team in ensuring a fast and compliant clearance of our clients’ goods.

Main tasks:

  • Clear shipments by all modes of transit.
  • Manage telephone and e-mail communications with clients, carriers, customs authorities, forwarders, warehouses and other service providers.
  • Make payments to service providers (freight forwarders, shipping companies, warehouses, etc.) when required.
  • Organize delivery when requested by the client.
  • In conjunction with the supervisor, ensure the proper maintenance of notes, databases, instructions and other information concerning clients in the system.

Your profile

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in the customs field.
  • Sound knowledge of customs clearance regulations (procedures and requirements) and other government departments (OGDs).
  • Solid interpersonal and team player skills.
  • Enjoy helping people and solving problems.
  • Good organizational and priority management skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time.
